Dear Members,

Military Forums has had another great year, even though times have been quiet.

Before you open your card below, we would like to say a few words.

We would like to say a big thank you for your support over the last year.

Pull up a sandbag, grab a space next to the open fire, munch on a mince pie, and take a tot and be merry.

If your travelling away for the holidays, stay safe and be well.

Please take a moment to also think about our boys and girls serving away, our thoughts are with them and we would like to wish them all the very best at this time of year being so far away from their loved ones and families.

Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year,

From the Military Forums Team and Forum Moderators.

The Royal British Legion - Shoulder to Shoulder

This year marks the 90th anniversary of the Legion, and to celebrate, we’re calling for the nation to join us in standing shoulder to shoulder with all those who serve, and support us by wearing a poppy.

The Shoulder to Shoulder website (www.shouldertoshoulder.org.uk) enables visitors to upload a photo of themselves (or themselves and a loved one), add a poppy to it and then a message of support to our Armed Forces. Once submitted, the image will then join the Shoulder to Shoulder virtual wall with thousands of others. The wall is open to the public, and allows anyone to hover over it and read all of the messages of support.

We’d love it if you, your family, friends and readers could spare a few moments to add their own images to the wall, thank-you.

Realign the annual cost of living adjustment of the Armed Forces Pension Scheme (AFPS) to that of the Retail Prices Index (RPI).

A vast majority of the Armed Forces retire at or before they are 40. This puts the members in the unique position of seeking a new career normally at the bottom of the ladder with their chances very much diminished compared to those starting at a younger age...
