Sandhurst will take entrants up to 29.



yeah but only for the wossey jobs such as Adjutant generals corps. Infantry is same as marines 26/27. AAC and Intelliegnce Corps like people before aged 24.

MOs can join up to the age of 55....... :-?

I know of a chap who is achieving the ultimate ...

My nephew joined as a Marine at 27. You could try that and go for a commission once you're in.


Wow - any problems? I have heard that joining a "few years late" can either be harder though I suppose maturity would help and make you less likely to quit in training....

55 - amazing! in the same vein as that 91year old bloke who ran the london marathin in 4 and 1/2 hrs - or the 74yr old Jap who climbed everest.

There was a 28yr old lady who is the first female to get the green lid - got it last year.

I suppose there are quite a few 30-40 yr olds from other corps ...

Contacts - not during service - but specs OK so long as they are not to strong <-7 or >+8. Most people with specs are OK. Colour vision - hearing and IQ are also important. - Even pilots(some) have specs!

I can easily answer this one - (I studied 3 years of medicine before quiting and shacking up with my J-bird here in japan) -

When considering eyesight there are many features that need to be considered: Colours perception, visual acuity, refractive error , binocular fusion, and speed of focus.

I would like to know who is the oldest person to earn a grean berret? 40, 50? What about the youngest?

Also what is the average age of a newly selected YO and NOD?
