Getting the green berret. Youngest/Oldest

Post by japslapper »

I would like to know who is the oldest person to earn a grean berret? 40, 50? What about the youngest?

Also what is the average age of a newly selected YO and NOD?

55 - amazing! in the same vein as that 91year old bloke who ran the london marathin in 4 and 1/2 hrs - or the 74yr old Jap who climbed everest.

There was a 28yr old lady who is the first female to get the green lid - got it last year.

I suppose there are quite a few 30-40 yr olds from other corps succeding.

Just asking - I am 25 - did three years of medical science at uni - always had an ambition of getting green lidded - but got distracted by a lady and ended up here in Japan! (good for a while......) now I am thinking of flying back to the UK to have a go and following my dream....maybe try for YO but maybe I am too late - up to age 26 it says on the web......time time time!

No hes right I seen her on the 6 o'clock news she was being interviewed and an assault course was being assaulted in the background. I could have sworn women were not allowed in the corps too.
you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength, and just pull that shit out of you, and get that motivation to not give up, and not be a quitter no matter how bad you wanna fall flat on your face

I think the youngest would have been 17, because you have to 16 and a half to join so when you finish commando training you'll be 17

I might be wrong about the age for joining so if anyone wants to correct me please do
