I think the reason they are so difficult has something to do with them working the triceps more than the chest (which normal press-ups work) and they are a smaller muscle. Keep doing them though and you'll be amazed at how quickly your maximum will shoot up.

I think that in general, it is three attempts, but one of the guys on my prmc, from the same AFCO as me, failed on gym test 1 on his second prmc and was told by the afco he was not getting a third attempt so it pays to be ready first time round.

Only to suggest that you might give yourself a day off once in a while to avoid injury through overtraining

Kit list

In the "field equipment" section of the kit list you are given for joining, the is listed "metal or unbreakable plastic soap dish". I have tried all camping and army surplus stores in my area and even some houseware stores but have found nothing. I bought a hard plastic one but managed to break that ...

Do you not need to have three years of "good reports" or something like that before you can apply?

US Marine Corps Knitting Club

Watched a program on the discovery channel the other night called "parris island drill instructors" and was very surprised to see that their training only lasted 12 weeks but even more surprised to see that women can join!!! Can anyone explain this as I thought their policy was the same as ours?

Its a good idea to be able to do more than the maximums before you go down but I don't agree that your scores will be lower on the day. I got 54 press-ups in gym test 1 when I had only managed 52 at my pre-prmc a week before so I think that the adrenalin on the day will actually help you through ...

When I applied, I was told that about 95% of people who get selected for officer training have degrees and most of the people going for the other 5% would be older than me (I'm 20) and more experienced. If you really want it and they will let you go for it then by all means do, but be prepared to ...

Very clever, worked it out after about 10 times of sitting there completely astounded. Feel kinda silly for falling for it initially though
