If you don't give it a bash how are you ever going to know if you could do it?

Artist

Maybe I'm just paranoid. I shouldn't get injured and thats the only way it could put my PRMC in jeopardy I guess. And I'd get back on the 16th so I'd have all of the 17th, 18th and 19th to rest and get ready ...

Look at life course 4 days before PRMC

I really don't know what to do. I have the chance to go on the Royal Marines 'Look at life' course which is 5 days down at Lympstone doing a load of physical stuff. I actually have been before back in December but i'd still love to go again.

The thing is, 4 days after coming back i have my PRMC on ...

Well, if you did i'd suggest joining the Navy and not the RAF. You'd be able to transfer over very easily and being knowledgeable in it and a part of the Royal Marines kind of 'mother branch' would help you a lot.

If you've just maintained the intensity of training you've been doing since the weight was dropping off that will be why. You probably need to exercise that bit more, or lower your calorie intake a bit to get the rest off. I mean, for a 24 stone obese guy it's easy to loose a stone. But for a 15 ...

Stubbsy was in my troop in training and held it still last time I was there at 2min 58s, he was stupidly fit though. Surprised he's leaving the Corps already.

He gave us all a card at the end of the look at life course which we can give to our AFCO and if we get past around week 12 of training he ...

When I was on my 'Look at life' course at Lympstone we had Marine Stubbs or 'Stubbsy' taking us for a lot of things, including the Assault Course. If I remember rightly, he said he currently had the record time. I'm not sure if he was joking but I'm pretty sure I saw his name in the sign saying what ...

I have my interview in a couple of days. Would you be able to go in further detail? What kind of questions did they specifically ask regarding corps knowledge/history and personal questions?

I'm sure I'll do fine but like you I'm trying to find every thread or piece of information I possibly can :D ...

Having a goal in your mind is the key to doing well on the bleep test in my opinion. Try aiming for a whole number. I figure if I'm at 12.6 or whatever I might aswell just push it that little extra for 13.

What questions were you asked during the interview?

I passed my eye test today, now the next step is the medical + interview in about 3 weeks time.

I know they ask you some general questions about the corps so how should I go about brushing up on my RM knowledge to make sure I get the answers right? I have a pretty strong overall basic understanding ...

I've wondered what relevance Norway has to the RM. Isn't it used for Arctic training? Is there some form of operation going on over there also?

I get the same thing but it isn't very consistent. So some days I'll get it and other days I won't.

It usually kicks in when I'm doing early morning running and haven't warmed up enough. When I'm running in the evening it doesn't seem to occur much.

But I agree it's really painful and frustrating ...

Aptitude test

My letter is due anytime now confirming an appointment at my AFCO for the aptitude test. I'm pretty sure I remember hearing the adviser when I was there mention something about you only have 2 times to pass this. If you fail it once you had to wait a few months and then if you fail again you CANNOT ...
