Hey Chris,

Glad to hear you are so excited about starting IOT .. as I have just completed week eight of the last 'old style' IOT course at Cranwell here are a few insights as to what you can expect :

1. You will be amazingly tired - I nearly fell asleep whilst standing upright, wearing full NBC ...

Hey all,

As you are aware I am due to start IOT on sunday, and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me roughly what I should expect to happen on sunday evening ?

The green advice pamplett issued by Cranwell says that we will be taken to do our streaming run, and then basically fill out ...

Tips, Help and advice !

Hey all,

As you have all read I am due to start IOT on May 29th. :D

I have recieved and read the suggested kit list, I have also looked back through the previous posts for tips and suggestions etc .. and I have even managed to get a copy of the course notes.

However, I just though I would ask ...

Well its finally offical, I got the confirmation letter today. My place on Initial Officer Training Course Number 216 has been finalized !!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

My security clearance finally came through (after 10 weeks) and now I have to start getting ready .... 4 ...

As has already been recoommended a trawl throught the previous posts will be most helpful, however I do have a few suggestions :-

1. Get fit, more specifically run !!!
As the fitness test (bleep test) is the only part of OASC that you can
ensure you get 4 out of 4 for (max points ...

Hey Vikki,

Glad to hear your FV went well ... my FV also went well. Met a nice group of people and we all passed the fitness test.

As for trouser hangers apparently Ikea do them, although I haven't checked yet and I think someone mentioned Debenhams... anyway, I will email some of the girls I ...

I was just wondering how your Famil Visit went ?

I really enjoyed my visit, but have to admit that I was a little bemused by how much I still have to sort out in only six weeks !!

Apparently there is to be around 108 cadets on the 216 course (the number has risen due to approx 27 ...

New CAB Boots

Hey All,

I have just attended my Famil visit to Cranwell and have been issued with my CAB boots. Whilst at Cranwell I was adivsed not only to break in my ew boots but also to obtain a set of good insoles.

Does anyone have any advice on how I should break in / polish these boots ?

Just wondering if you have had your final security interview yet and if so how did it go ?

I have now been medically cleared, but have yet to find out about my security clearance - however, they wont have had it for 6 weeks until the 30th March and as the man I keep annoying at RAF ...

Vikki,

Can I ask, have you been security /medically cleared and if so how long did it take ?

I am a little worried that I may be a little tight for time, as I would like a couple of weeks off before beginning IOT and yet I have to give one month's notice...
