Med' Hat is a nice little city. I go there quite frequently in my line of work.

The mindlessness of drooling cretins descending on it and acting like animals, alluded to by m-a-s-s-e-y, can only be marvelled at.

Apparantly the Stafford's claim to professionalism is only a veneer. A few young ...

Go straight to depot, the lads who go to harrogate get it harder in most battalions as its seen as a back door way through training.

Another point is if you want to join the para's their depot is ran by para's at harrogate your section commander will more than likely be some f@#k remf bastard.

I could not give a flying fark how good the bog standard County Regiment Soldier considers himself to be. To me he will never repeat never be as good as a Royal Marine Commando or for that matter a Parachute Regiment Private.

THATS THE DIFFERENCE!!!!

I think that the main point being brought up here is that most infantry Regiments are well up to the job and are well capable. However there is a difference between the motivation and fitness levels of the average infantry soldier and a Marine or Paratrooper.

Agreed,The best capbadge is the one ...

No County regiments are either light role, mec or Amoured. So we all have diffrent mindsets,we specialise in warrior but can do the light role job just as well.

My point is about Iraq is that county regiments have proved themselves time and time again out there. You left sixteen years ago its unfair ...

Why the Hell should a Battalion of County Regt Soldiers have any right to call themselves Commandos?????

Pissed off with this sort of total crap that Arsewipe Jackson, General of the Army keeps forcing down the thoats of the Royal Marines.

Commandos are an Elite force and this bunch ...

They should make an TV advert specifically for the Paras, in some ways similar to the one for the Royal Marines, and highlight the tough reputation of the regiment and how difficult it is to get in, because at the end of the day, like it or not, the Paras are renowned for their tough macho image ...

No you won't mate, the D&D's are based in Catterick, Just because you'll be in your county regiment doesn't mean you'll serve in that area,Im in the STAFFORDS and were based in Tidworth. If you want to stay in devon area you'd be best of joining the marines and hoping you get sent to a commando ...
