Sorbothane

Am going to buy a pair of Sorbothane insoles for basic which starts soon but I'm not sure whether to get the 'double strike' or 'full strike' versions.

I've read all the posts on the subject and a couple of people have said that while the double strike offers more support it takes up too much room ...

phase one

Hi

Can anyone tell me what you get paid as an infantryman on phase one training.

Also I've heard that you only get a part (£40 I think) of your pay each week and get the rest as a lump sum at the end of training. Don't know if that's right or not but if anyone knows if you do and any figures it ...

Attention to detail is only relevant if it adds value or, in this case, helps to answer the question.

Your post does neither.

Have you got anything to add which might remotely address the actual points in my original post?

I have to admit to asking more in hope than expectation.

You're right James, I am confused.
I ,wrongly as it turned out, assumed that someone might actually be able to give me some relevant information rather than totally irrelevant nitpicking.

Light Infantry

I'm thinking about joining the Light Infantry but I'm not sure whether to put a preference for LI1 or LI2.

Has anyone been or is anyone in one of these?

If you could give me an 'insiders' view on the LI in general and any specific info. on the difference (if there is any) in the two regiments it ...

'The Paras' Video

Hi

I've just watched 'The Paras' video of the BBC 1982 documentary series following 40 new recruits from their first day through training to passing out and active service.

Although I would have liked more emphasis on P Company it was still worth a watch even after 21 years.

What was interesting ...

Any advice warmly welcomed

Hi

I have been to the recruitment office recently and spoken to a guy there about joining the Paras but I'm more confused now than when I went in.

I told him how keen I was to join but all he kept going on about was how I should join another regiment in the army before going for the Paras because ...
