it creates dependance, and when you quit using it you will feel crap, and be nowhere as fit as you thought.
There are so many misconceptions surrounding creatine. Creatine is found natrually and can really aid a training programme. I wouldn't neccessarily recommend taking it but i've used it and found i made some good gains at a time when i seemed to plateau.
If you are a power athlete i.e sprinter rugby player it's a great supplement to taek and there are some suggestions it could help endurance athletes (I don't know much about this though).
And for hypertrophy i.e. weight gain the 8-12 rep range is good for increasing muscle higher weigh and lower reps would focus more on strength although you would obviously still gain muscle.
Hope this helps, MAtt :)
yeh i personally count low reps as about 10 or under, wether thats the official number i dont know but thats the sort of range i was refering to.

secondly, yes it is naturally occuring, but your body cant really replicate the levels that taking it as a supplement gives.
the dependancy comes from needing that level of it. similar to testosterone and adreniline when used as a supplement. both are naturally occuring but your body gets used to having elevated levels of them, and when you stop, you go through withdrawl, as you have a much reduced level.

the increased water retention it promotes means your muscles have more water to use, which helps stave off lactic acid build up, so yes sprinting would improve, as well as endurance because lactic acid builds up when you do a long run.

chak, i wouldnt really recommend it. all these supplements need to be taken consistantly to keep the increased performance.
passing the prmc with a gut full of creatine may get you a pass, but when you come to RT you may find that you arent fit enough and sink like a lead weight.
also, if/when i pass my prmc, i want to know that i did it fair and square. theres no pride for me in a pass if it was because i was full of enhancers.
do some fizz and start pulling your finger out and you wont need creatine.

wasnt tryin to cheat my way in coz my current scores are in relation to the effort i put in, but if taking some creatin a couple of days before prmc helps than i would consider it.

After readin this then i would much prefer to pass knowing i did itwithout the 'enhancers' and that its more down to my effort. A question off topic but how do i quote somebody else with the 'member_wrote:' at the beggining?

What about endurance training with weights, what are the rep ranges for them?

I consider it 20-30, or as high as you can go untill your arms catch on fire.

Hi
Has any one one here ever used dessicated liver as a supplement and if so was it any good, I've heard it increases your red blood cell count and haemoglobin content within them which, should benefit running but does it help build muscle?
Cheers

Never used them mate, but mixed feelings regarding them I think from people who have like the majority of sports supplements:

A couple of supplements I can definitely recommend though for anyone interested is:

Universal Nutrition - Animal Pak (Probably the best multivitamin you will find, honestly)

Universal Nutrition - Animal Flex (Probably the best legal joint supplement you will get hold of too)

Universal also do an interesting new Post-Workout Recovery drink called Torrent, I havn't tried it yet but check the ingredient profile fellas, it's awesome!!!

(Yes I am a supplement junkie lol)

You've really bought into Animal Pak, haven't you?
(Yes I am a supplement junkie lol)
How much are you racking up a month?

I think we're talking £££'s.

Mate come on vegetables are for wimps real men take Animal Pak!!!

Nah only messing I do find it helps though mate yeah and if funds permit why not? gota be better for me then a skinful of ale every weekend; however my degree is in Sports Nutrition so I'm bound to be a little biased lol. Animal Pak has been in production for 25 years though almost, so that speaks for itself as far as supplements go.

I suppose if you've got your diet down to a tee there is no need for additional vitamins and minerals, but this aint the case for most people (myself included) especially with how much training takes it's toll on our bodies

I only earn a measley £500 a month cause I'm a broke ass student lol

Taking it a few days before will do sod all. You'll end up p!ssing most of it out, trust me.

You'll need a good couple of weeks before you notice any significant difference. If you've already gone and bought this stuff - ignore the loading phase, that's rubbish. You'll have gone through alot more than you should have and as I said, you'll p!ss most of it out.

By the way, what's happened to people's spelling on here? It's nothing personal against anyone, but put some effort in ok fella's.

Use the Search button lad's. There is so much covered on here about this.

Any questions, I'll be happy to help if you pass a PM my way. I'll get back to you asap.

All the best everyone.
