Post by Oakers »

Mate without my Nato'S coffee first thing a.m. I am U.S. in this job. It's mind numbing enough as it is!

I get up at 05:45 to go to the gym first thing before work so I'm baggage by the time I start at 0900

What about you bud do you work for yourself or for a firm?

Hey Sully I was just going to post a reply to Prez ref kit muster which reminded me of something.

Do you remember when you were in training, you'd be getting ready for a load carry or something and one nobber would always say " Corporal, do we need our Kevlars for this?" Or you're about to be inspected and they'd say "do we need to wear our boots and carry our shoes Corporal?" They never learnt did they, didn't matter how many times they got filled in they just kept asking

Yep, full NBC IPE - there's really only one answer isn't there
Last thing was a twelve miler with 32lbs followed straight away by a two mile row, two mile cycle, two mile swim and 500 press ups max effort and with no breaks.
Am I supposed to be impressed mate - I had a furious thrap the other night :o We'll see next year my friend - if your still with us after all that - you realise that you only have a limited number of heartbeats allocated to you?

I'm originally from one of the salubrious mining towns near Deal and live in Kent but work for a firm in the City. Apparently there's a bootneck officer (I was told Lt Col but can't see it myself) training at one of the other City firms and trainees always get the wets for everyone - it's a smaller firm than ours but I'd love to be in a meeting with him - "could you just run off and copy this document for me?". There's an ex perce Captain here who was in the Det and I've asked her a couple of times if she could handle some extra ironing in the eveneings - boys will be boys  We get on well though and she thinks Royal is tops - and she is awesome (from a military point of view).

If I'm ever in Brum (which would be a first) I'll let you know mate - failing that the last meet-up (30 miler) was such a success that there's bound to be more to follow. Given your tendencies I'm not sure about having to look at your package all night though mate :o I can't make it to Mike's do so I'll have to make do with the phots of the LBUKF

Sully thrapping!!!

Post by Oakers »

Again you b**tard I've just dribbled coffee down my chin and snorted like a horse at your thrap comment My boss already thinks I'm a loon but now he
thinks I'm retarded as well

I work for a well known Comms company so there are loads of perce scaleys here. They seem ok but I don't really associate much.

What do you mean "If I'm still around then"? Do you know something I don't?

I'm sure there will be phots a plenty mate. I don't think I'll make the July meet, not enough notice to get my leave chit in with the CSM.

Well one way or another I'll get the chance to get you a wet in one day bud.

Prez...good to see you and nurse are being allowed
to travel so far.I can give you the addresses of the
best pharmacias who im sure will cater for your
medication. :drinking: Remember its normally
Carnival at that time of year so many people are
unrecognisable as they stagger around the centro.
Mind you as everynight is a Saturday night here then
thats the norm anyway.
Perchance I may know these 'Friends' of yours who
have issued the invitation for your short term release.
Maybee a pm is in order Prez with some details.
We could then start to put in place a cunning plan.

Aye Sunman 8) .
I'm just 2 people short of a threesome.

Sul, it`s good to see a bloke who knows the differance between a gong, a drum and a good thrap 8)
Are you two engaged yet and can I be yer best man :P

Oakers, didn`t they do the "Those who like rabbit, on the left. Those who like chicken, on the right" gag, out of the back of the four tonner
Hold the rabbit by its feet hanging it upside down and stroke its head and down its back to get it all relaxed so the meats no chewy and then crack, flat hand behind the neck and seperate the head from spine. Classic
Sunman, I bet Rob is staying in Los Geriatrics, or Los Tya Panties as you call it :P When you meet up, as you surely will, do us a favour mate. Take him up Teide, show him the view.
And leave the bastard up there
Hasta la manana, gringo

Harry, what's the difference between a raw egg and a good thrap? You can't beat a good thrap

You'll always be my best man Harry

As far as the rabbits go we were shown the 9mm OBE (one behind the ear) method - but it's not very tactical :o

Not bad for a thread that started life as a question about fitness levels  Combat Wombat, I hope that all your concerns have been addressed  The bottom line mate is just have a crack and give it your best - you can see from the above that we're not supermen - as Nietsche said "Ecce Homo - human, all too human". Cue Oakers to revive the fudgewhacking side-plot.........

Rabbits. Rick Stein's dog 'Chalky' (don't go all PC on me) caught Julia Hanns rabbit when Rick went to film a TV prog at her house. the rabbit was shaken to death. Rick skinned and gutted it then cooked it, Voila, stew!
Ms Hann was not impressed. Trouble is Toots has all these traits, shakes everything to death, and our neighbours have just bought some fluffy wuffy bunnykins for their kid. Watch and shoot Toots.
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.
