Ties

Post by BigFatCivvy »

Sticky blue, I know this will most likely sound like a stupid question, you'll just have to forgive my civvy ignorance. What exactly is the corp tie we should avoid? I mean, is it an official tie, that'd be obvious and easy to avoid, or would it be any tie of a certain colour, ie: green? Would a normal plain black tie be fine? When I finally apply, I was planning on wearing a suit and tie for everything, ie: test, interview, medical and PRMC. I figured since the military are very much inclined towards the smart, you can't really go wrong all suited up. Plus I look good in a suit. Oh yes, one other thing. I'm afraid I'm one of those people who slaps hair gel all over their head. Would I be right in thinking this'd be a bad idea before going to the PRMC? :-? Cheers all. BFC.

I am going to add my wee bit!

1. Just be yourself, don't try to impress!
2. Do as your told by the staff, if they say sh*t you say where!
3. Keep yourself clean and tidy at all times, especially your kit!
4. Listen intentively, ask questions if you don't understand!
5. Give everything you're best shot!
6. Don't over dress,eg tuxedo going to the Naffi!
7. You are not in the Corps until you passout and go to the regiment etc!
8. Don't make an ar*e of yourself by getting drunk!
9. Study hard,rehearse everything,test yourself and others!
10. You are part of a team help each other!

It worked for me both in the Army and the Police!

BFC, you can't buy the Corps tie in civvy shops, unless you go to Gieves and hawkes so don't sweat on it. 8)
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

pardon my ignorance, but I'm not familiar with the term 'CTC'. Are you talking about how to dress for an interview or how to dress for arrival at the Phase 1 training centre (catterick in my case).

Cheers

Your in the Marine section. CTC is the Commando Traing Centre and therefore nothing to do with Catterick. Easy. :D
