Assault Course

Hey all,

So, im hoping to get some info about the RM Assault Course, I live really close to a NZ Army training base which has an assault course, and im just curious if it would be worth my while training on that.

but pretty much, what kinda obsticles are there, I did a search, but to no avail ...

i would much rather join the rm's than the army, so that info appeases me a bit, i guess when i get to london, the afco will set me striaght anyways, cheers guys

Help deciding which branch

hey all,

im a 20 year old new zealander, and im coming to london in about 5 weeks for my OE, while im there im gonna try and get some info about the RM's, now here is my question.

ok, im not exactly a overly fit guy, if of average fitness, but getting better, i dont plan on joining the RM's yet ...

Cheers for your input guys,

Let me clear up a few things.

I haven’t done cardio for a while, because I was losing weight, but I am at a good level at the moment…obviously need to do more to survive in the RM’s
I don’t do weights as such, just body weight exercises, push ups, pull ups, incline pull ...

Gaining Weight

Hey all,

ok, heres the deal, im 20, from new zealand and im want to join the rm's.
but...im too skinny, i what ever i do, i never put on weight, i eat heaps, i quit smoking, i only do weights, no cardio so i try not to burn off my fat i do have.
can anyone give me some tips or ideas on how to gain ...

Hi all,
Well in new zealand last night on channel one there was a reality tv show hosted by ex-sas members, it was about 40 or so civvys going thru a mock sas selection run by ex sas guys, they are only doing a 10 day course, but the sas guy said it is damn close to effort required to get thru real ...

I dont think i will actually get into the SAS, and i struggle to string words together to make a complete forum post, i dont think I will be writing any kind of book soon.

what i dont understand is, why would a guy, who has no intentions of joining, let alone training in the special forces, go onto a forum about joining and training in the special forces, and ask questions about training exercise’s in the special forces.

hi harry,
can't say ive ever actually cooked or eaten a from a hungi, thats more of a maori thing, i usually get my food from the big 3...mcdonalds, burger king and KFC.
Just curious, I dont suppose new zealanders (commonwealth citizens) are eligible for the SAS? its not like i will ever be good ...

also, someone said, thats there is no chance of being an officer if your from the commonwealth.
Does that mean, i cant go directly to officers trainer, but can i still be promoted if i start as a RM?
