A Job for a RM wannabe?

Post by ace_compton »

Hey All,

So, heres the deal, Im a New Zealander coming to England (London) on a Working Holiday Visa, while im there, I will be applying for the Royal Marines, but, becuase it takes so long go through all the application process, and my funds will only last so long, Im in need of a job to supplement my income a tad, so I am offically putting out an appeal for any kind of job, anybody could possibly offer me, of course, we would meet in the UK before you employed me, but it would be nice to get the ball rolling before I leave to comfort of my own country.
I dont care what job it is, the more physical the better (for my PT) and anywhere in the UK (as long as its fairly close to a AFCO office)

Well, I hope to at least get one or two replies.

Thanks.

Adam.

Once you're in country, check out www.gumtree.com . I got a job within two days of finding that site as a TV salesman on Tottenham Court Rd. If you're looking for a place to live I can maybe help you out, I live in a house share in South London. Mostly South Africans, but there are two Canadians joining the forces (My buddy and I). The price is good as well, I pay £60 per week, roomsharing but that is no big deal. There are 4 computers with Broadband, a T.V. in every room with the standard 5 channels and DVD player, a lounge with pool table and SKY TV, and best of all... a gym (most weights, benches, treadmill, stairclimber, 2 bikes). And last but not least...all the second hand smoke you can handle! Actually I meant to say there are quite a few ladies, and a nice patio so you can soak up the sun/beer. It may not take as long as you think for the RM man, my buddy arrived on 10 March, and his PRMC is on 26 April. It is about 45 mins to get to Central London/AFCO. I tried and tried to find something cheaper, but I couldn't, unless I wanted to move to Brixton (Dodgy as hell). The area I live in is not too nice, but good enough for me. Let me know bro, Kyle.

Hi mate,

I'm afraid I cant offer you a job myself, but come to Southampton. You could work in the Walkabout bar...they cry out for Aussies or Kiwis and it is literally across the road from the AFCO. Or there is Southampton Docks driving new cars.

As you can see, these aint physically demanding, but hey...it's 2 options you could look into.

True DaveB, there is a Walkabout bar near my place (Wimbledon), and there are lots more in the London area. Also, when you get here, pick up a TNT magazine from any Newsagent, it has lots of job listings. I believe it even has a job listing for Adult Movies, a guy I know applied, but he hasn't heard anything back yet, and he is waiting by the phone for his call...
