Help deciding which branch

hey all,

im a 20 year old new zealander, and im coming to london in about 5 weeks for my OE, while im there im gonna try and get some info about the RM's, now here is my question.

ok, im not exactly a overly fit guy, if of average fitness, but getting better, i dont plan on joining the RM's yet anyway, but even when im fitter im still worried about how i will handle the training.
im a skinny guy, all my family is skinny, and thats how i will probally be all my life, i wanna join the rm's, but will it be too hard for a skinny fella, regardless of how far i can run.
is it best if i join the army 1st then try and transfer over once i have had some proper training and bulked up a bit?

what do u guys think.

If the RM is what you want then join the RM.You dont have to be built like a tank to pass training.The training is built around muscle endurance,train properly and you will be fine.

hiya, my mate is in the marines, he aint even 19 yet and hes just got back from Iraq, and to be honest, he aint even big (asin muscle or size), actually hes about the same size as me - and i ain't big.

and he even told me when i was pumping iron a year ago to get massive, that theres no point in being able to lift a really heavy weight only a few times, its better to have good all round fitness and stay slim but fit.

STAMINA > POWER.

i would much rather join the rm's than the army, so that info appeases me a bit, i guess when i get to london, the afco will set me striaght anyways, cheers guys

What prick that Zephania is. He could have refused his honour when they first told him about it but he had to do it with a bang and make a fuss about slavery, imperialism and colonial oppression - why? Just where do you get this proper training in the Army.? And therefore it follows that you don't get proper training in the Royal Marines!!

Just join - you skinny young man and with a bit of luck and a lot of determination, you will do well. (It will also help, if you learn to spell and use proper punctuation etc.!!)
