I got to agree with A Bridge to Far, its cured many a boring Sunday duty down the mess and makes a welcome change from the normal dirty duty watch vids, only once in a while though. :snipersmile:

I cant say for the Marines but I know that in the Navy you cant get the Mob to organise it unless its part of your PQ number or a requirement of your job(except during Fresco), though alot of the lads on my ship have had mornings and afternoons of for tests, if theres not alot of work on. well a type 42 does hold the record for detection of a diesel electric boat which was during its BOST in 2001, come on 42's have 2016 which is raw sonar, so really the standard of the sonar is down to the maintainer, our POWEM was awsome. Oh one other thing as anti sub torps launched from the ...

come on people we all know a sub would never really get within 10 miles of a carrier, not with its escorts or frigates and destroyers. Ok I apprecate that carriers only carry the same sonar as type 42 destroyers which is not great and out dated, but surprisingly as its primary role is AAW a type 42 ...
