I remember watching the the second series of 'Behind the Lines' when there was an update of what people were up to after the first series. People had taken different routes in life....... It was a good watch and I too wish I had seen the first original programmes, if anyone can assist. As far as I ...

Fodd, I'm green with envy...spent a year out in Oz, travelled around and up the middle in an estate car...certainly put a few miles on the clock!! It was the best year of my life I'd say, and in some ways has ruined me!! I want to go back and repeat it! It was hard at times when money was tight and ...

You will only get a conviction at court if it is deemed beyond reasonable doubt that you committed the offence. Obviously if you get convicted inform your AFCO asap.

Hi all, I agree with all the above comments too, very good book, easy to understand, with good descriptions /photos and gives good progress with exercises. The days to day programme includes days of 'active rest' - when not having a circuit day you do activities such as running/swimming/cycling ...

BBC Series 'The Paras' - "Where are they now?"

If anyone could help our Frank Hilton or David Harrison, I'm sure they would really appreciate it, please read below..........

In 1982 the Parachute Regiment helped the BBC make a highly successful television series on what it takes to be a Para. The seven programmes were shown on BBC1 in Mar / Apr ...

Must agree with the above comments on the book, it's a fantastic read and paints a picture of the harsh realities of an arctic expedition, the often comical change in the relationship you have with a person when spending 24/7 with an oppo and what good things shared hardship brings. A quote from the ...

Also steroids are a controlled drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, if they aren't prescribed by a medical practitioner etc legally then you shouldn't be in possesion of them or use them. Not worth it, get fit the natural way!

Hi,

i did the last Nijmegen March, in July 2003, doing 250km event. It was the biggest turnout ever with around 45000-50000 people starting. If you get chance to go it's great, a good physical and mental challenge and the town puts on a big party for it all. Everyday when you pass through all the ...

Not too sure how you could do one really. With the treadmill you don't get the stop and turn action as you do with the multi stage fitness test. Comparing it to the one used in the phyzz tests you can't really make a true transfer to a treadmill, as on a treadmill you would get a rolling start on ...

Yeah that was from 'The Paras'. Cpl Lyden (apologies for the sp?) was 'motivating' Private Cunningham over an assault course during the 'basic wales' phase of training. Those all important attributes of not giving up and maintaining momentum were being driven home!

Hi,

i read that you use approx 13%less energy when running on the treadmill as compared to running on roads. You don't get wind resistance on the treadmill etc.

Hi,

welbeck college is basically what Nimrod says, the focus is on the maths, sciences and technology, so if you want to go in the REME, RE. signals as an officer it would be ideal. Saying that though if you fancied other units I would assume it would be just as beneficial. I went on a visit there ...
