TRAINASIUM TO BE LOWERED TO SIX FEET HIGH UNDER EU RULING..

Post by judy29 »

check out this months soldier magazine (or might be the one before)
for an article on this. aparrently the present height is against health and saftey law and it will be lowered some time in the future if the new health and saftey law is brought in.
They interviewed an ex para rsm who was none to happy to sa the least!
I really think this is absolutley pathetic

ps Sorry its not in the para forum but I wanted this to be seen....

This has got to be an April Fools joke, surely?

Otherwise why have combat troops at all? isn't being shot at by the enemy against EU Health and Safety?

We should take away rifles from our soldiers, in case they hurt someone. Also, ban running as someone may start sweating and the sweat will run into their eye and possibly cause a mild stinging sensation.

Am i missing something or isn't the whole point of the trainasium that it is high up? I thought it was an otherwise fairly easy obstacle course that was designed to test your fear of heights, so if it's low to the ground doesn't that make it completely pointless?
I don't think even our government would let such an absurd decision stand.

I take it the Belgians will be the first to lower the heights of their own paratroop training obstacles then? Isn't it always their idea?

Is this right? EU laws are made by the Belgians, enforced by the Germans, followed by the British and ignored by the Italians?

All I got was a syringe with a blunt and rusty needle!
Bloody hard to get a BFA on at times.

Lowering it by six feet wont make a great deal of difference if you fall of, you will still get the same size bruise or break the same bones, now if they lower it to six feet that could improve things as far safety goes.
