"An Unexpected Light"

Last September I received a copy of Jason Elliot's book on Afghanistan through the post. The book - "An Unexpected Light" - is fantastic and so is book recommendation of the month. The author traveled round Northern Afghanistan looking for what is good about the country, rather than just believing all the "bad news" stories we get to see in the UK newspapers with the aim of writing a book about that experience. If you want to discover some of the warmth of Afghan people this may be a good place to start.
