Hi all,
I am thinknig of joining the army, I have researched a lot of info over the net and think it would be good for me and id like it, I only have my GCSE's from school, I'm 24 and unemployed (Laidoff in Feb). The problem is for the last year or so I've been an occasional/social Cannabis smoker, I know the Army have a zero tolerance for this and I would not even consider doing this if I signed up.
I am in no way dependant upon Cannabis, Just more of a social thing. The last time I smoked (About half a joint) was 2 weeks ago. If I was to stop completly now and apply would this affect my chances of entry?
I will be honest and upfront when I go to see them at recruitment office in a few days..

Re: Thinking of joining
In the past it would have been an immediate bar, but these days it's less so.
What they will want to know is if you've ever tried anything else, where you got it from, what you think of the zero-tolerance policy, and possibly why you took it.
MSI64 is the one you need to speak to I think.
Incoming?

You can have peace.
Or you can have freedom.
Don't ever count on having both at once.

Gentlemen, by popular demand.
The Armys policy is what you did before doesnt count aslong as you dont do it again!!!
HOWEVER
In the current climate I have a feeling that your Recruiter will tell you to come back in six months when you have been clear of the stuff.
simple really, Get off it and stay off it if your serious about your aplication.
I will now retire back into the shadows and await the next drugs/crime/bankruptcy question!!
