how've you been finding the training so far? is it what you expected from what you were told before you got there? have many people opted out of your platoon?

thought i'd give you a few to answer since nobodies asked anything.

Probably lost about 20 lads to DAOR, injury, back squadded etc. It's a lot better than i expected, there are parts that are complete pants but they are far outweighed by the good parts.

yeah I guess the crap parts are to be expected atleast there outweighed by the good times though, Im guessing things got alot easier after week 6? I was told the corporals take those 6 weeks to get the people that dont want to be there out of the way so they can focus on those that do.

Yeah the first 5 weeks are pretty crappy but once you get your beret it feels immense!

fella, congrats on making it through

waiting for my prac date and rather excited! :)

a question tho.. maybe a bit out of topic.

push ups - i can bang out about 70 in 2 minutes, my chest is going fully to floor however i am not locking my arms out straight.

at prac and depot are they looking for locked out arms or just most of the way up but not locked (which is what im doing), or what?

confusion!your help would be appreicated :)

Make sure you are fully straightening your arms on the raise and bending your arms to 45 degree angle on the lower otherwise they will not count. We had a lad who said he could do at least a hundred in a minute, when he showed us they were the most pathetic press ups i have ever seen in my life.
