do paras still parachute into war zones a read on a site that this does not happen anymore was just wondering if there was any truth in it ?

Parachuting is a means of entry into a warzone, so if thats the way the headshead want to insert, then they have that ability. It hasn't been done for a while, but you never know.... :wink:

It is a 'shock tactic', so maybe the Taliban c'*nts will get a shock soon when they get a load of sky ninja's drop in on them! 8)

The Paras have not jumped into battle since the 5th November 1956 during the Suez crisis.

However, in 1982 after the death of Lt Col 'H' Jones during the battle of Goose Green, Lt Col David Robert Chaundler was parachuted into the South Atlantic as the replacement CO.
'Paddysprat' a phrase used when explaining the origins of an 'Army Brats' accent.

im here every time the reg goes to afghan they always say oooohh lets jump in to such and such a place like they did last year then at the last min they say its binned because they dont have the casevac in place if someone breaks a nail or a leg or some shite like that :evil:

in fact i think the americans jump into afghan a bit never actually seen them jump but have seen them preppeing their rigs on more than one occasion
