Passed PJFT 9.34

Post by SamForrest »

Just passed my PJFT today,9.34 ,instructor told me to leave it on 15.5 the whole way, just as a tip to anyone looking to do theres.

I done about 3 small runs in the last 6 weeks due to shin splints, and there JUST starting to clear up a touch,so my fitness has slipped. Was it just me that was hanging for the last minute or two?

:o I think I could have pulled out another 9min run after mine.

Well done on passing though mate, being mostly inactive for 6 weeks isn't easy to come back from.

Dam, i think it was the pace that really done me. I used to run a 3 mile circuit 3 + times a week, and was getting results of about 10.30 each way, that was on the road. Im not used to running fast on a treadmill, but i felt pretty cained at the end lol. Oh well, at least now i can work towards a PRMC and hope my legs allow me crack on with more running.

Im doing a lot of Crosstrainer, but it cant replicate the intensity of a run i dont think.

Cheers anyway guys

I found myself really really knackered for the last minute or two aswell; always struggled with treadmills, not too sure why

Well done mate, not done PJFT myself but whenever I run on a treadmill I get knackered so much quicker, I don't know why some people just seem not to get on with them, fine runner outside but on a treadmill I'm total shit.

I'm like that on a running track. Think it's to do with the mind getting bored or something :-?

Well done mate! Nice to hear how fellow wannabees are getting on. I havent been on a tredmill for a while now so im gonna get on one when i get to my PJFT.

Spinning sessions are mental! One of my mates is an instructor of one the classes in LA fitness and she is seriously fit. Everyone always comes out of there looking like shite. 1000 meter swims are good. I used to do 500 meter sprints in a 25 meter pool. 4 lenghts with 1 minute rest every two lenghts or so. That was a killer.

Got mine tomorrow, and I'm finding that most Potenial Marines are better runners out on the ground not on a bloody treadmill, I don't see the point of the test but oh well.

I'm usually fecked after the first mile of a run but can carry on running the same pace for another 4-5 miles.

It's not about how long you can stay fresh for it's about you can deal with working close to your limit.
