An Oz who posted on the Cerven's FFL forum won the King's Badge as did
a man who completed 5 years with the REP and then joined the
Corps.
The latter stated that the training at CTCRM was much better
structured and certainly harder physically. However the mind stress in
the Legion was infinitely greater.

King's Badgemen and Diamonds almost invariably get their first choice of draft.
King's Badgemen get 12 months advanced seniority, which means they are eligible for promotion straight out of training.
Diamonds get 6 months advanced seniority, which means they are eligible for promotion 6 months after their pass out. Everyone else has to serve 12 months before they become a Candidate for promotion.
The selection of the Diamonds is down to the training team, from a very early stage in training everyone is being assessed for leadership potential and Section Commanders and 2i/cs will be nominated early. These are subject to change a few times to give anyone who shows potential a chance. After Baptist Run (wk15) these Section i/cs become 'official,' and get white tapes to designate them, though again they are liable to change hands a few times before the Diamonds are decided upon around wk26. There can be as many Diamonds as the training team see fit, as a rule of thumb one per section, but commonly less. These are the men who will go before the Kings Badge Board made up of senior hierarchy, to decide who (if any) are worthy of the King's Badge. It is possible, tho extremely rare, for more than one King's Badge to be awarded per troop, if there is more than one man deserving of the award.
