women on selection

Post by walter_1 »

may cause a bit of a stir... i was flicking through the posts from years ago and came across an interesting thread relating to women in the sas...

on test week in feburary the first thing we were given was a sheet of paper with the different weights for each march, obviously without the routes, which we already new.

on this it also had a section for females. i'll give you an example.. day 1 weight = 55lbs + 4lbs for carrying rubberised diemaco, and then in the adjoining section women 25lbs + rifle and so on...

now although the only woman we saw at senny were chefs and med staff, i did see some unusual characters on the hills, with bergens, but minus rifles, however i was to fooked to even breath let alone ask who they were. talking in the cook house we could only assume they were srr however we were later informed there were no srr on test week

excuse me for being slow on the uptake but can anyone enlighten me on any new facts that have emerged relating to this subject...?

cheers walter

It may have been wannabes, the Beacons are crawling with "management training companies" who are basically ex blades (but more often than not, ex attached) who send all sorts up the fan for a thrashing and all in the name of team building.

Theres companies doing "Fan Dance" "E&E" and "SAS aquaint"

Ive even seen the "E&E" one at torpantau, civies in old fatigues and hessian sacks getting beasted, I just bimbled past giggling.

Basically the funniest one is turn to at Storey Arms, get a set of DPMs a bergen and hand over £100 and get pointed toward the fan and told "go!"

We're all in danger of comprimising security here- we're talking detail about units, unit composition and training.

Take care to think about what we're posting here, fellas.

sounds like a decent enough explaination.. sure wouldn't pay a £100 to do the fan dance when you can do it for free, but i'm sure they get a sense of achievement from it....!

flo, sorry if i sounded a little rude in my previous post, im sure your nav is well up to scratch... does sound like an interesting way to die though

Tell me exactly where you've read that before? The thing about intelligence is that little bits go together to make up big pictures.

A little paranoid delerium goes a long way! Interesting his initials are MS...I think it's got to his brain!

Shhhhh! Rememeber, every key stroke is "int"!

MS: Not a pinko are you? Just checking! 'Cause I hear "they" are all over the beacons these days, picking up gum wrappers from guys on selection and studying boot prints.

Maybe he's MI6. D'oh. I've done it, now!!!
