Hi, did the afco give you a grren booklet called 'Royal Marines Commando'? If you've got that the info for all the tests is in there, or id not here's what you need.
Pressups - minimum 20, maximum 60
Situps - minimum 30, maximum 80
Pullups - minimum 3, maximum 6
When I did it a lot of people went over the maximums. You really want to be achieving well above minimum, but I have heard of people passing with less than the minimum in one exercise if they perform well in other things.
Hope this helps

Thanks.. I can do around 10 pullups and have been training more in the gym... it's ok though because i have plenty time to get fit since im still sorting my passport out and havent had any of the interviews/tests yet.
Does anyone have any tips for any of the interviews or tests?, since the afco didnt really go into much detail i'd like to know what i'm getting myself into.

Welcome.
Search around the site mate, pretty much every question you can think of will no doubt have already been covered at least once!
This thread covers the application process for RM recruit.

There are also various diaries and anecdotes around by people who have been on various courses.
Are you applying as a Marine or Officer?
Cheers
James

Lol, was thinking the same think WWW
mrcharlton did you not ask:
"Does anyone have any tips for any of the interviews or tests?, since the afco didnt really go into much detail i'd like to know what i'm getting myself into."
Ok, so you knew the info anyway - how was fozzy suppost to know ?! General questions are likely to get general answers.
P.S. Getting into (and staying in) the Marines is not just about fitness, its about the right attitude aswell. "Thanks Fozzy" would be a good start....

Unfortunately not, those are (very) close grip chin ups (i.e. palms facing towards you).
The Royal Marines require you to perform pull ups which involve you taking an over hand (palms facing away) grip of a bar, arms shoulder width apart. The exercise begins with arms fully extended, legs straight (not crossed or bent). The arms are then flexed at the elbow so that the chin is above the bar. This position should be held briefly. You then return to the starting position under control.
During selection these will be completed after the multi stage fitness test, press up test and sit up test, and the pull ups will be completed on a rounded edge plank (sorry, best as I could describe it).
Check out this page for pictures on all of the exercises, as well as descriptions on them and a suggested training programme.
