Groin

Post by mancuniankid »

Hi guys,

I've been having trouble with my right groin everytime i do any running or biking. I always do a good warm up and stretch but it always comes when im into my exercises, sometimes really bad but sometimes slightly. Anyone else had this problem? if so what should i do?

Im not a doctor, but ill have a damn good look!!!

only joking!

When you cough can you feel any movement or anything popping out in the area it is sore. If so you may have a small hernia.

And dont bother with the dirty inuendoes chaps about things popping and movement etc. :D

Ive been told use the method Rice Ice Compression Elevation, this might be beneficial mate.

RICE = Rest Ice Compression Elevation

Rice is only used for the first 36-48 hours, not after.

My tip for groin pain................see a doctor as your showing a severe lack of intelligence and maturity if your asking a bunch of people you dont know, who havent got medical quals and havent had a look at the affected part.

No doubt you will argue that point and some other twonk whos read a book will say its cancer or something.

But for the record I agree with Flo. (based on not taking a history ,an examintation or actually giving a toss.............hang on that could be the problem....not on a 24hr w@#k for the blind are you?? )

"Sounds like you've strained a muscle in your groin, and it's a muscle you only really use intensively when you're doing your exercises. "

Future, I also injured a muscle there, two times in fact. Both times I could barely walk for a week :-? It's still a bit iffy, but am seeing physio to sort out underlying problem. I wouldn't reccomend continuing to train, as apparently groin injuries are easy to aggravate and hard to get rid of.

Suggest you do the same, and go see a doc who knows about sport injury (GP's most likely useless), it could be bad luck, could be a biomechanical problem which means you favour the wrong set of muscles, or could be a whole host of things I have no idea about because I'm not a medical type! Either way, you aren't going to find out until you go see someone who actually knows their stuff.
