Does SAS/SBS still use SARBE 5 (which replaced TACBE but looks identical)?

If someone had a buckshee antenna to one, where would be a good place to sell it? I've heard of a few knackered TACBEs being legally sold as collectibles, some without antennae, but not recently.

If the mil still use these, it might be better to retain it as "buckshee stores"...

No worries.

It was purchased legally (with receipts - somewhere), not stores diffy. I believe SARBEs are also used on expeditions (eg: Arctic/Antarctic Pole type trips) and for civil aviation emergency kits. Different frequency to the military.

I don't know who would buy a TACBE, the ones I used were genuine "line of sight" comms, as you had to see the person you wanted to talk to so you could throw the bloody thing at them to get their attention.
As to the legality of selling them, when they were taken out of service they were sent back to depot never to be seen again, I imagine spares might be knocking around but if someone has a pukka item I would keep it quiet as some other poor bastard probably got charged for losing it.

you also just seem to be posting for attention of what you think you know, be nice to know if you have any SF experience as you seem to speak at length on the subject. Shame none of it makes any sense and comes across very walter mitty-ish.

Im not the sharpest tool in the box but im in at the moment and shouldnt have to explain myself to a mitty lunatic who Iv noticed posting on the SF board.

I have tried to piece some aspects of his drivel together and I cant work out if he's in/out/was in for a bit/below 20/above 20 infact I cant work out anything accept he has alot of knowledge on alot of things but the knowledge and the things dont seem to connect :lol:

If you die, you don't pass, you mong! :lol: Give it a few years (if you ever do pass) and, in hindsight, you'd think differently if you ever had to do it again, not that failure would enter your mind.

The issue here is the use of the use of guards, not failing. I say again: "It's not worth losing teeth over - if you can pass with a guard then wear a guard" Personal choice.

No, they'd tend to say just "Reg" as in "Regular". The original text was "Para Reg". It's "Para Regt". C'mon, maintain standards, people. By "Reg Para" I was referring to "Regular PARA". Did you know that there's Regular PARA and TA PARA? You don't know much, do you?! Your "Intel" (sic) isn't quite accurate, is it?!

Good, let's see if you can keep your word. All that you've done so far is knock people of whom you know nothing - ill-advised. In one of your other "knowledgeable" self-righteous rantings, you've pointed out that my attendance of a law court wasn't in line with AB types - once again, you don't know much about real life soldiers.

And if I actually were a Walt, then so what?! Why are you so bothered? Soldiers are outnumbered by the Walts in society. If you were the warrior you wished you were, you wouldn't care about Walts, though you might share a laugh or two at their expense.

Once you've passed P Coy and have done your first Abex you're in, regardless of how you speak, read, write, etc. If you'd passed, you'd understand this. And it's only an opinion on your part, because I'm a time-served Para. :D I don't know what you are, though. Frankly, I don't care.
