Hi,

Just joined this site, I'm an Engineer, presently living in Oxfordshire. I left the REME 4 years ago now after serving for 16 years. Seen more of the world, especially Spamland, since leaving the Army than I ever saw in it. Enjoyed my time in the Army (even the 5 years that I worked with the RAF!) until I had the misfortune to end up at the aptly name What-A-Shame airfield and got totally hacked off with BAT officers.

I was a Wob (Radar Tech), worked on Tracked Rapier and at 2nd Line. When on to work on Rapier FSC at RAF Honington, helping to bring it into service. Ended up at Wattisham working on DIANAs to fix modules from Lynx and Gazelle. Got tired of the private army idea that the BATs kept trying to push forwards. Too many officers with careers to manage rather than men.
