Cheers tjd, as i said any info i can get is much appreciated, i think preperation is gonna be key. To be honest i wasn't expecting the selection process to be so scrupulous but then again this is the first time i've applied to the raf.

Are you a PTI yourself?. Any ideas which sports they look for competency in?.

thanks again for the help!.

Cheers mancunian, thats some real good advice there!.

Just for the record i recently took and passed my AST with good scores so all's good to move on to the 2 day test's at Cosford. :D :D :D

The bad news is that i hear that the PTI trade won't be opening til Feb next year. Can anyone shed any light on this further?. The AFCO staff were a bit vague about this.

TJD - As i mentioned in a previous post, this is my first time applying to the RAF or military so im trying to get as clear a picture as i can of how and when things are going to happen. The main reason for this is because i'm currently getting over quite a bad ankle sprain which is taking forever to get better and i'm just concerned to wether i'll be in good enough shape for when the 2 day tests at cosford come round.

TJD - how do you know there is 15 slots for PTI next year?

At the moment i am on the waiting list for avionics, they said to me it will be about January/Febuary time next year when they get in contact.

15 spaces doesn't seem that much, for the amount of people that apply for the RAF.

I was told to wait till when the avionics post was opened up, which they said will be in Jan/Feb time.

Ive been in touch with the AFCO since April this year about when the next PTI's course will be, when I spoke to them last, which was about a month ago they said it will be next April till it even opens again and they will be in touch no sooner then April. Any reason why it is taking so long?.
