Final furlong

Post by Hyperlithe »

I've called Cranwell (Again, they must all know who I am by now!) and I have passed medical clearing, and security clearing, so all I have to do now is hand my notice in at work, and start collecting items for my kit list.
:D

Just wanted to say thanks for all the advice, support and diversion tactics over the past few months. It's still a bit scary, but I reckon I'll be ok.
Right mates, mine's a double vodka, whose round is it?

Port and lemon?
Not if it's my round, it's not, you'll have a 'proper' drink or buy your own!
If my grin gets any wider my head will split in half....

Blue_Wolf, looks like it's your round then!

I will still be here this time next month, but I'll be having Bovie-style panic attacks instead of ringing Cranwell! Ooh, first scary thought of the day, I've only got 6 weeks left as a civvie...

From first visit to AFCO, until start date at Halton, almost exactly one year.

Scary thought for today - I only have 15 shifts left to work...

Passing iot is not about luck so I won't wish you any! Work hard and have lots of laughs along the way! Mines a JD and coke, no ice.

I handed in my notice this morning. Was very nice and gave them a week longer than I needed to, but I want to take my remaining holidays before my finishing date. My boss doesn't seem to want to let me.

I understand that, as they're gonna have a staffing problem, but they're gonna have it whenever I finish, so what difference does it make? If they don't let me take my hols I could just phone in sick. What are they going to do, sack me?

The worst case scenario is that if your career in the forces does not work out and you need them for a reference in the future. Best not to slam any doors on the way out.
"The enemy should be in no doubt that we are his nemesis and that we are bringing about his rightful destruction."
