as we all know, Britain is made up of a few little countries, England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. So, if your born in Scotland, your Scottish, if your born in Ireland, your Irish and if your born in Wales, yes you`ve got it, your Welsh, SO, why on earth is it, that I was born in ENGLAND, and am classed as British? once again i think its down to the loonies we have in power. if you fill an application form in, there is no reference to being English, and if you put that your English, you can face a fine and or imprisonment, i think we actually come under "ETHNIC MINORITY" now.

The time for the Revolution has come, i say we start a Forum party, and oust these communist`s out of Downing street and into political oblivion

I agree, it definetly has gone to the dogs mate.

I personally voted for the last option as i can see no solution to the problems that we've got. I'd like to see nothing better than seeing this country turned into something better. As i said though i dont have the knowledge as of how this could be done. It seems though that if i as a white guy voice any opinions on the state of the country i will somehow be branded as a rascist someway or another as my argument is turned against me.

Hmm im not sure, i would agree though

Countries like Iraq, Afganistan,Haiti and sierra leonne have gone to the dogs we are far from it. I think compared to the problems that these countries have its quite sad to hear people bang on about immigration being the worst problem in the world because it is'nt. So what the PC has gone mad no-one listens to it anyway. At least were not A.I.D's ridden or war-torn. I think were lucky.

Immigration is an aspect of foreign relations, and so it does reflect on the standing of a given country.
I don't think it should be discounted off hand.
Also I think Haiti, Iraq and Sierra Leone are not the best examples (too extreme). Comparison to Eastern European countries may be more applicable. I don't entirely disagree with m-a-s-s-e-y, it can get worse than it is. In fact it will.
About 14 years ago my brother visited me in the States and we went up to San Francisco. He saw a couple broken down busses, graffiti everywhere, the smell of piss from the homeless population (yes: population) on Market street near city hall, with their tent city (no longer there), trash swirling around in gusts of wind, etc. His reaction: "this is f*cking Russia..."

The core issue for me, as this is a military forum, is this: what do the soldiers fight for, what do they defend? What do they come back to after deployment?
How do those of us now on civvie street 'maintain' the garden?
And PC is now legislation, so how can we ignore it? There was a seminar at work yesterday, I'll try and remember the name of, something like "cherish the power within you, steps to self-confidence, self-esteem and self-marketing".
I'm a survivor: I know better than to openly laugh at this drivel as I walk past it: the bosses are watching.

Has Britain gone to Hell in a handbasket?

Post by df2inaus »

It is never too late and there are always alternatives, alternatives to New Labour and their foreign cousins, that is.

Centre-left government in the G8 has become all too aware that as long as the GDP goes up and unemployment is low, the majority of the population will never get upset enough to seriously challenge their campus-hatched, leftist media-nurtured, social engineering schemes.

I think Britain is a pretty alright place to live personally. There are problems and we have to live with 'political correctness' and such, but if i had the choice there is no country i would rather live in than Britain, so i consider myself pretty lucky to have been born here. If a government acts against the best interests of the British people then it will eventually get voted out of power, when just depends on how long it takes the public to wake up to the reality of what is happening.
I think when i am an old man i will live in the country and never watch tv or read newspapers, Britain will seem a LOT better if you try doing that.

The UN reccons we are the 13th "most livable" country in the world. Personally I agree. Obviously there are problems but non that are destroying us, my living standards haven't gone down, our economy is growing, and many other things are getting better. After a few recent problems I think the country is about to get a heck of a lot better, the Blair government has made so many gaffs on immigration, foriegn policy etc that the next government will know not to repeat them. Even Blairs starting to get his act together with new restrictions on illegal immigration, by no means enough and it is far too late for his government but the next, I think, should and will for there own sake carry on with the reforms.

We are at a low point (not as low as some others though) but we are on our way back up.
