Endurance
distance
Before I joined up I was doing six miles some days at about your pace, other nights it was 3 miles in 19-20 mins. While I wasn't the fastest man in the platoon I was fast enough not to get noticed, and certainly well out of the range of remedial PT (for overseas cadets).
The best way to measure how well you will fit in in basic is to time your 1.5 mile. I never got below 9 min 20 sec but then again I never pushed myself beyond the limit, like I should have.
If you are doing the 1.5 mile run in about 8 min 30 sec, eyebrows will be raised, in a good way. One of the fastest men in the army at the time (2002) was doing 1.5 miles in 7:01, this guy never even broke a sweat until about level 16 on the bleep test

"Poor Ike, it won't be a bit like the Army. He'll find it very frustrating. He'll sit here and he'll say, 'Do this! Do that!' And nothing will happen."
