A mixture of both I would be "all muscley and big built" im 6ft 1in and weigh 12 stone and then there some guys who are shorter and lighter so are better built for running. Someone on the forums is 6ft 8in and when i visited foundation there was a guy who was 5ft. Builds vary greatly.

size

When I was in PRMC most the boys had, a normal size build but very fit. If you want it that much you shouldn worry about the other people just crack on with it. Cause im not a very big build but I still passed, im going in Feb 16/04.[/i]

I don't think that anybody was really big that passed my PRMC because the bigger you are the harder it is to run. The Marines seem to want people that can run better. On my PRMC the corporal ran the 3 miler in 20 mins to filter out all the weaker runners. So a lot of the stronger people got filtered out.
Started recruit training 5th July

marines arn't arnold swarznagers there harder and tougher! could you see arnie yomping 30 miles with a 50pound bergan? i dont think so most marines are slim more like middle distance runners thats what i get the impression of maybe some of the old and bold will be better anwsering this question
ex nod was diagnosed with chronic compartment syndrome rejoining eventually.

currently in australia as im traveling the world before i rejoin the marines.

You'll find that it really doesn't matter how big you are, infact the lighter and nimbler the better for PRMC becuase there is no real strength tests, you need some stack for the 32 weeks but they biuld you to that.
On both of my PRMCs we had all sorts and all sorts passed, on my RMR PRMC us smaller lads were quite daunted by all the big muscle bound types, one was a bouncer in london and was very big but if i remember correctly he failed.

It's all about balls at PRMC stage and obviously the ability to run like a gazel for 3 miles.

Was he called Luke by any chance? White bloke with blonde hair? Just wondering because as you're in Portsmouth I'm guessing you're at the Portsmouth det of RMR London (where I was in holding tp - failed med). One of my mates was a big bouncer called Luke. He was quite fit but always struggled because of his weight.

Good luck with your training.

It may have been him, he was quite big. Come to think of it tho he may have passed PRC, i think he might have wraped on Induction. Fair enough tho, it's not for everyone.
