to train for a marathon i set aside 3 mths so i would assume if you threw in a few 1000 sit ups and press ups you should be ok

If you're starting from scratch it takes 6 months (3 for the muscles to grow and another 3 for the ligaments etc to follow) but if you've got a good base 4 months should be enough.

I've been training since June so virtually six months but i've been training on and off for about five years now so it was just a matter of bumping up the pressure a bit really

Gosh you people take a long time to get fit... 4 to 5 months is enough to get to the required level of fitness to begin training... u dont need to be superman from tha start of training... the prmc is looking for potential, not tha finished product... anyone who take more than 4 or 5 months to prepare is either not training hard enough on a day to day basis and is being slack, or is overtraining and attempting to become super human.

KEEP IT REAL!
