for regulars and TA this is the course done after phase one training, it teaches hopeful infantry soldiers all he advanced skills and fitness they need for the infantry, for the TA it is 2 weeks, but in the regulars it is 14 weeks.

I keep hearing about this "2 weeks" where do you find time for that then? I'm at uni. If i disapeer for 2 weeks i wont be popular with my tutors and i'll of missed a fair bit of my course. And i dont want to risk it

Will they run this during non-termtime for us students?

Can't say im in the Devon and Dorsets mate but i know a couple of lads who are. The drunken & Disorderly's  never appealed to me, Plymouth is after all the home of 3 brigade, so im gonna do my bit and keep the Royal Marines stocked up with Plymouthian's.

(My mates in the D&D are ex- DACF lads, same as me)

Im just curious why the Devon and Dorsets and where abouts in Devon are you?

My little brother just joined the RGJ and I believe he said something to the sound of 14 weeks?

When my fiancees dad was in the Marines they called him Janner(?) because he was from Plymouth (Saltash actually). Where did that nickname originate?

Yeah he went fulltime moved back specifically to join that regiment.

I wish I had done the same thing. Its my understand that if you don't have your O level (I think) the regiment puts you in training upgrading you to that level that true? So your basic plus trades training can last upwards of a year.
