FINISHED FOUNDATION, FIND OUT WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO!
hi i just got back from lympstone, finished foundation! Its hard but i expected nothing less! My troop gets beasted evey day, apparently we have the hardest training team! For the first three weeeks you are a iron board!
Everything folded to a4 size to teach discapline etc! I must stress how strong mentally you have to be, you must keep going when the shit hits the fan ie when you are getting beatse! The worst one so far has been on ex first step, when we were woken at 1.30am and beasted for an hour or more, they made us wear our bergans while doing press ups sit ups etc,(get used to holding the press up positon for a long time at the top and bottom), we then did bear crawling which is crawling on your hands and toes through our piss!NICE!
PT is good, a good circuit which will wear you down, remeber keeep those knees up or it will be round the camp circuit, we had to do it three times (1.5miles sprinting)lol all good fun! We do lots of rope climbing which is good lots of technique! We had our first unarmed combat lesson which was fun, punching, kicking kneeing etc
If you think you have what it takes give a go, but you need strength of mind just as much as physical strength! Any questions just ask, im looking forward to going back!

On another post, someones brother who is in training at the moment said that the foundation course is easier than the PRMC. Is this true?
What kind of running are you doing? ie: distance, pace, frequency
What do the gym sessions usually consist of?
How physically fit are the other troop members? and age?

None of the phy's i have done in the last 4 weeks has been anywhere near as tough as the bottom field on the prmc
We've only had 2 3mile runs in the last 4 weeks,
its all aerobic work in the gym, they are introducing some heavy weight work now though.
Mentally its alot tougher than the prmc, its hard getting woken at 0430 and taken down the bottom field for a beasting when you've done nothing wrong!!
Great fun though!!!!!
If anyone asks; no we did not go to the bottom field!!

Agentkitson, What troop are you in? I am in 855 Troop (week 10) and we are so lucky that we have the best training team on camp and of course a well switched-on troop. Our troop now consists of 37 Nods mostly in their 20's; 6 re-joins; and even an ex-Corporal Pongo. We rarely get beasted simply because we rarely f*ck up. 856 Troop gets a hard time! They are forced to eat dry coffee and chilli. There whole troop had to leopard crawl everywhere and they were so badly cut on the joints that they could not do PT and their PTI had to have a word with their training team. They are also made to get into stress positions on their nuckles and push-ups on their heads - they have a real tough time. I do not want to get back-trooped into 856 troop! We used to get the odd bit of beasting in the gym for not putting in 110% or getting into a good solid press-up position. The usual punishment that we had was 4 camp circuits carrying heavy mats. We had to do press-ups in the prickly goarse at one point. Our Training team punish the individuals which I think is very fair. I got 'flanked' on my last exercise for having a tiny bit of carbon on my rifle. I had to run up and down a hill several times with my rifle above my head; do countless tuck-jumps; press-ups; situps in a pool of s*it and lots of sprinting up and down hills in soaking wet rig. Its all part of the 'game' and there is an end to all this madness (i.e. 20 weeks).

My how things have changed, not so long ago half the forum population was going insane over PRMC's, now everyone's buggering off to CTC. Within a couple of years, we can probably fill up our own company
. And cg, perhap some people do have the worst training team, but don't live to tell the tale?

the nims bro here again, 858 troop. CGlees, not sure whos got the best training team although ours has to be one of the best, and if it wasnt for 856 troop, one of the most insane. Im just glad im not in cpl keanes section, random beastings throughout the day for no particular reason, ah what a guy. To be honest all you who are wanting to join up, the lucky ones get a hard training team, cos in the long run you'll be stronger for it when you pass out. One thing i know for sure, our troop sergeant has to be one of the best, he's bloody dedicated to making us one of the best troops, just have to get rid of a lot of the dead weight. One tip i can give to anyone wanting to join, get used to having 3-4 hours sleep per night. They say it gets better after foundation, but really you just get less sleep so u have less nightmares about it, hehehe

Every troop has the best training team because there afraid to say otherwise, incase said training team gets 'wind' of it.
when on my PRMC we were shown a video of a troop going through training. It was like youve been framed. People being sick all over the place,falling from windows,taking a long time to erect a basher and my favourite the food competitions(eating tinned food as fast as possible with other 'delights' e.g tinned peach with tomato sauce and tomato soup with coffee
). There were also 3 training staff who dismantled several flares took out the contents and placed it in one big pile and set it alight,needless to say the area had zero visability .
