I do support the whole Vulcan thing, though I'm not of the view that not supporting the club means you don't care about British heritage... There is an awful lot more to it than a plane :). And to answer your second question, I'm not a memebr and indeed have never heard of this club before.

There have been a lot of sponsors for 558 who have dipped deep into their pockets, the gist of it is without Lottery Funding it may never fly from the UK, the Lottery refused funding on this project but someone deemed it necessary from this organisation to help fund Asylum Seekers, I immediately stopped doing the Lottery on principle!

I don't know what the latest is but I did hear that 558 might go Stateside as its only chance of getting airborne again, it would be great to see her at Moffat AB or somewhere similar even if not flying in the UK.

 I wonder really if one of the problems might be to get her flying again is the licence issued through the CAA.

Now some people call me cynical Craig, but when I saw the open top Mercedes (at least I think it was a Merc, I was distracted by a young lady walking in front of me  ) with the personalised vrm plate of V111CAN with a stud trategically placed to read VULCAN arrive, I lost interest in making a donation.

When asking for cash for a project (however worthy) and turning up like that is bound to give the wrong impression. Especially with suspicious gits like me around!

A-Ha..... Vulcanites...........Very impressive birds..... But , if, you are one of the FEW, who live within a mile of a landing strip that they use, you will know what a devilish noise and disruption they make on take off.
I live, one mile from the bottom of RAF Valley main runway, we have got used to the normal run of the mill landing and takeoffs of all NATO & Brit aircraft, but the one that we just could not get used to was the Vulcan, especially as they seem to think it funny using the afterburners just passing over our heads at about 800 ft!.... Have em back.... Yeah.....by all measn... But not to visit Valley
