body fat
Bloody hell Mat 10.5% is skinny even by racing snake standards.
Aim for 19 to 21%. Fat is metabolised back into your system as "ready use" energy. From an endurance viewpoint, a wee bit of lard is no bad thing, but it should be remembered that a goodly amount of ones body fat is stored within the muscles and that is where it should ideally be.
A spare Michelin hiding your willy is less than desirable.

the best way to measure body fay is by Bioelectrical impedance. Which is a way of measuring the resistance of body tissues to the flow of a small, harmless electrical signal. Current flows more easily through the parts of the body that are composed mostly of water (blood, urine and muscle) than it does throug bone, fat or air.
Bioelectrical impedance measures the strength and speed of the electrical signal sent through the body (impedance measure). It then uses this measurement and information such as height, weight and gender to predict how much body fat a person has.
10.5 is seriously skinny I was 19 (probably 18 now) which is almost perfect for my age andd gender

Hi Jackal,
You are dead right there, Boots sell them in the weighing scales department, they aren't cheap though.
I got one a couple of years ago and it provides a very good indicator of ones' porky quotient, certainly it's better than waiting till the jeans no longer fit before doing something about it.
They are made by a company called Tanita and I recommend them to the house.

Did read that 16% is a healthy percentage for any male - Professional bodybuilders go to dangerously low levels before a competition, usually about 4% - This is achieved by roid abuse combined with the abuse of diuretics to drain the body of water so they get that 'skin streched over muscle' look.

I don't mean to bitch but professional bodybuilders don't take steroids. Sure they use performance enhancing substances but no professional takes cutters or similar "roids".Chester wrote:Did read that 16% is a healthy percentage for any male - Professional bodybuilders go to dangerously low levels before a competition, usually about 4% - This is achieved by roid abuse combined with the abuse of diuretics to drain the body of water so they get that 'skin streched over muscle' look.
what i mean is you need to get one with athlete mode because they dont actually calculate body fat they use a complicated formula, these athlete ones are more expensive.
BFSCALES
''Tanita's equations for standard Adult mode have been calibrated against clinical readings taken from a representative sample of the population, most of whom have sedentary or only moderately active lifestyles.''

Glitch, anyone with any knowledge of the bodybuilding world knows that professionals use roids - Ronnie Coleman, Aaron Maddron, King Kamali, Milos Sarcev (Who has admitted injecting Synthol), Greg Kovacs all have a bash at it.glitch wrote:I don't mean to bitch but professional bodybuilders don't take steroids
Do you really think they get that big using the Muscletech products they endorse ?
