Abissmal fitness

Post by COMBAT WOMBAT »

I have been in my own physical training for a couple of months now but don't seem to be getting anywhere, but it's not for want of trying.
I do long runs, short fast runs, pressups to the floor and situps with my elbows slapping my knees and the floor. I work hard, often to the point till i simply can't run anymore or i'll die or be sick or something.
However, i seem to be making no progress, my max ammount of pressups is still very low, dito sittups, and max running distance seems to get a bit smaller sometimes.
Advice please!!!!!

I have modelled my own training program around the PRMC training schedule. Islington is OK, although much scum running around around mugging people, and car crime is up mega, the streets are paved with broken glass and the 'NEW ISLINGTON PEOPLE' have had the funfair at Islington green banned  :x  :x  :x  :x

Sounds like Beasta's been wandering out of his own neighbour hood...

Anyway, about the fitness, maybe you're over doing it? If you are pushing to the max every time you train then your body is too knackered come next training session. After a really hard workout, the next couple of days take it easier and let your body recover.

Make sure you train regularly,
your body has to get used to you training constantly,
you cant have a day off and say, ''i'll do twice as much tomorrow to make up for it''
it doesn't work like that.
Take it easy, not too much at once, make sure you do it, and keep doing it!

It will come mate

Stick at it fella

(make sure you rest atleast twice a week too, but decide what days are gonna be your rest days and stick to that programme, dont chop and change once you've got it right)

COMBAT WOMBAT, that's how I feel the press ups are getting better, my sit-ups are fine. But the running that's giving me the most problem. But as you said I run till I am sick, I don't go that far but I run until I cant run any more.

Keep up the hard work. :P

I may be stateing the obvious here, but make sure your warm up proper before a run. I know i just use to shake my legs a bit and then do a few stretches. I was stuck on a time of 21.45-22.15 for 3 miles, for f**kin ages, but the other day i decided to go on the bike for about 10 mins than stetch than run and i got a time of 20 and a half minutes, which is good for me. Make sure you cool down properly aswell.
alright
