Do you have to be spot on fit.Can you tell me what you do 0X
hey there,i went to rsc lichfield last year and i wasnt spot on fight but i still passed, but its helps the fitter you are of course! but even if you are finding it hard when your there give it 110% and try your best then theres nothing more you could give, when i went there was loads of fit people there that got rejected because they failed there medical so it would be advisable to make sure you fit the standards before getting your hopes up,check out the Army website for fitness,medical..etc el diablo
you know it really depends on what you are going for as if your going for the infantry then the fitter you are the more chance you have got where as if you are going for.....say a logistics trade you don't need to be as fit. don't get me wrong! you still need 2 be fit but at a diffrent level.

One thing that kind of 'frightened' me, or opened my eyes, was the RSC video I watched the other day.
In it they interviewed a couple of recruits that said they had tried 2 and 3 times to get in! And one of the training Corporals there said a lot of people have to come back for a second try...
All that really did is make me go home and re-double my efforts, in partiular in the upper body area.

Hey Gary!
i had the same expirience but as you say it is good because it does open you eyes and you end up getting this sensation telling you, you need to do more. which in the end you go and do!!
how long did you have 2 wait for your turn at rsc?

Most of the time i do what i want.
The rest of the time i do what i have to
The rest of the time i do what i have to

Hi ya Kiwi - I spent the weekend with family in a caravan near Gt. Yarmouth (good fun!!)
Saturday and Sunday morning I woke up early (despite a bit of a hangover Sunday!!) and ran along the sandy/pebbled coast WHAT A WORKOUT!!

The loose gravel/pebble and sand made every step a bit of a trial and my legs were well 'tight' afterwards! Good stuff!

I went to RSC Lichfield about a month ago now (and passed, got 19 days till i go in!) and one thing that you should try to do is blend in, don't stand out! As far as fitness goes there were a couple of lads there going for the paras, they were super fit! Done the 1 and a half mile in about 7 minutes i think! Like I think somone else said further up the posts - give it 110%! When you can't go on, do a little bit more. The army arn't looking for supermen, the're looking for people who are going to put that little bit extra in when your body packed in ages ago.
In short "Don't let the bastards grind you down"!
In short "Don't let the bastards grind you down"!
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Yours is the earth and everything that is in it
And which is more you'll be a man my son
