Jay, how do I get this thing to vote? I can't be the only thicko bashing every key to make my cross on the computer. (Paranoia creeps in, or am I?)

You want to create a poll?
If so, when you create a New Topic, look at the bottom of the page...
You will see "Add a Poll".
Just fill in the details.

Sorry Jay, I meant when someone asks yes or no such as the poll about the colour scheme on Misc. Discussions, how do I plant my cross in either lobby?

You have to vote for one option or the other in the boxes provided, you can not do both.
And you can only vote once.

Jay, it may help matters if I explain that I was born in Dublin. Re your last, perzactly which boxes would they be, ie where?

If a poll was created, the poll would appear at the top of the page just above the first post.
The boxes you press to vote all depends on the question etc.
But they are easy to understand.
Does that answer your question?

Jay, have a look at the aforementioned poll in Misc. Disc. I see the sliding bars with percentage votes etc at the top but can't see how to add my vote, at the bottom of the page in the right hand corner the last sentence reads, 'You cannot vote in polls in this forum'
Paranoia surfaces again, have I upset someone? So how the fornication did everybody else do it?

Being a fellow luddite this is reminicent of similar problem I experienced when the voting options first appeared:

1. Make sure you are logged on.
2. Make sure you haven't already voted

Another thought occurs, the originator may have applied an 'end date' .
