Life In The Army...

This might sound like a stupid question! But are there many major differences in day-to-day life between infantry rolls??? like what would a light infatnry roll do on a normal day compared to what armoured infanty do????

When you are in the infantry there is a lot training going on the whole time, also fitness is a key element in the infantry so that there is always a key element on keeping you in good physical shape

Well Light Infantry would practise Light Infantry drills and Armoured Infantry would practise Armoured Infantry drills.

In other words they do exactly what it says on the tin.

I could'nt answer on a regular basis, But as i said they dont just carry out there role all the time.. they can also be sent to help the armoured or mechanised lads out, as i wasnt sure what to join, my careers srg told me light role would be the best as they get thrown about alot and get stuck in with all parts of the infantry, hence my mate in light role jumping outa planes an getting stuck in with the armoured an mechanised guys

Cheers Alf, you saved me the effort

When I was RAF Regt I did RAF Regt work and my colleagues in the US 101st Airborne did US Airborne work and the USAF CSP did USAF CSP work. And on the rare occasion when we worked with anyone from the British army I noted that RA field units were doing RA work. And the Green Howards were doing Green Howard's work.

Like Alf says - what it says on the tin!
