Specialise

Post by RMC »

hello all,my first post on the forum but have been reading post for quite a while, i will be applying after christmas, hopefully everything will go well, but i was thinkin when it comes to specialising after a few years, is everyone within the Marines respected by other marines? if that makes sence, i want to go in 42 commando as a couple of my friends are already there, but after a few years i am thiking of being a chef...because when i retire i hope to open a restraunt, so would the other marines see me as a chef, or would they see the green lid ????

any replies would be appriciated

cheers

You do the same Commando Course as everyone else.

If your scrans good they will like you if it's crap you will get flak.
Simple as that.

Yet again Eeijuts who ain't even been in the Corps are giving people duff info. The words "Howtobecome" springs to mind. The biggest rip of anyone can pay £10 for!

Any member of the Corps can apply to do the Snipers course. It's not rocket science, all you have to do is pass it.

Theres a little thing called prmc and training i'd be a bit more worried about if i was you. Lets not run before we can walk. X

Priest: Yes.

If you want to be a chef fella, be a chef because their are a lot of blokes out there that dont want to be chefs and will be pinged. We would rather have some one doing a job they want to do, there is no stigma attached to any SQ except the useuall banter.(spelling biff).

The chefs course is as hard as the medics course, no-one has yet to pass either and with both you get to kill people

Is it possible they make you specialize something you don't want, say there was a lack of chefs or medics would they force you to specialize in that field?

If you don't volunteer for an SQ it is common practice to ping lads after their first GD tour, notably Sigs, Drives and Chefs at the moment. If recruited under this scheme, you are only tied to the branch for two years, after which you can volunteer for another SQ or return to the GD branch.

Why not become a Sniper Chef? Like Steven seagull out of that movie ''Under stairs'' You can grow a greasy ponytail and learn how to make microwave bombs. Its a Gen branch mate.
