Elmer has a deal with OZ, it`s called "Sea Swap".
Instead of rotating crews in San Diego, he sends his Carrier Battle Groups down here and flys the crews out from the States, thereby saving many weeks of off-station downtime.

We have had several over here in W.A. and the biggest was the Abe Lincoln. Seventy five aircraft parked on deck is how big :o She`s too big to fit in the docks at Fremantle so she parks-up about five miles offshore. Elmer`s sailors inject about five million dollars per day into the local economy and last time she was here the matelots spent so much time in one of WAs brothels that the madam had to close her doors! The girls had shagged ten days worth of punters in three and were all a bit "worn out"

Everything about these carriers is impressive, not least their ability to move nearly one hundred thousand tonnes at over thirty-five knots(over 40mph) :o
Here`s her website,

and here`s a message to Sadman,

As it happens mate....
After one ANZAC Day Pde we ended up sharing a bar,( in the Commodore I think,) with Para Regt. I was as shit faced as I hadn`t been shit faced for years  and enjoyed meself all afternoon baiting Elmers young matelots 8) How I never got well filled in is beyond me :P I did hear several times from the Red and Green machine, "Oi, Elmer, do yerself a flavour and fark off son, he`s enjoying himself" 8)
Elmer had booked two floors of the hotel and on each floor he had installed a couple of ladies on a sort of "hot bunk" routine. Such organisation! Superb :P
Did you know that US sailors are called Swabbies, btw? Well you do now
By way of an explanation for my behaviour(rather than an excuse, obviously  ) I had been on parade at 05 00 and was getting stuck right into the free rum at 06 15. By 09 30 I`d had at least twelve large rums plus several pints as chasers and that was before we stepped off on the main parade, ffs :o Then I foolishly thought I would have an hour or two free from rum. But sadly that was not to be the case
Hip flasks everywhere it was, and all filled with Pussers :o They made me drink, they forced me to do it
