Does anyone here know how good/bad this career path is? I like the idea of police, it's role etc but I don't wanna be chasing after drunk soldiers and I don't want to get killed by some Iraqi mob after serving 3 months or so. I want to do 4 years and specialise, not die young having done nothing.

I just wanted to know about the + and - points of the job. I didn't mention anything about those 6 RMP killed. I'm just telling you I want a full and lengthy career thankyou.

Plus points to RMP- A great job to do, being a redcap is a true role of responsibility. You control whats going on (making sure the lads don't get into trouble), provide security, close protection, etc. I have a mate who's 23 and he loves the job.

Downers- Chasing the drunk privates is part of the job that you would do in normal life if you think about it. There will be days when it seems dull but the excitement will always make a come back. The job can be dangerous but remember this is the army. If you don't want to be at risk of some Iraqi mob then don't join the RMP. Join a civilian police force.[/u]

Nice one, you ask a supposed 'serious question' about becoming an RMP and how you 'like the idea' and you didn't mean anything against the guys who were killed. Then you attack Goldie because he is 'merely' an ex RMP! What you lack (apart from a brain that appears to exist merely to perform motor-functions) is any respect. You ask about a particular career, then slag it of as if it is beneath you. Trust me on this one, as someone who has done all things you are asking about, you will never, never, never accomplish anything and you will never be a part of anything you are asking about simply because you are quite clearly incapable of doing it. I do hope you are about 12 year's old. then at least that gives you time to learn to think and get your sh!t together before you sign on any dotted line.
