Well, thank you Ratso and John. I am pleased to have another link with the RM 'family'. Reading the miscellaneous discussions have kept me from feeling too bereft of my boy since he joined. I did not feel any particular need for a separate area, especially as we were kindly invited to contribute if we wanted to - but I must say I wished there had been some link like this when Dan was going through training! Supporting him through that 8/9 months was the hardest thing I have ever done!
Welcome Jeanie
Hope your fine, with a bit of luck you should be able to make contacts with other parents in the same situation as your self we all know it is a worrying time plus the fact it is a stage in a young mans life when he is changing from a boy into a grown up,Dont worry about him too much he will make lots of new friends who will stick by him through thick and thin,
So again I will say welcome and good luck with your contacts

I think we have a bit more ammo to throw at the Corps to sort out the idea of a web site which can help keep families in touch with their boys (and girls now with the band).
I hope that this distraction from the other board proves to be a help and support area for mothers and families.
We all look forward to reading your side and helping in any way we can...
The family grows.... maybe we need not a site for the RMA but a jointly run site for the Corps and RMA??

My Passion has been and continues to be to create a portal for all Royal Marines on the Web.
It started with recruiting then moved to the Once A Marine Site, to bringing Countermarch to the net, and now the to make the RMA aware of it's potential, this has begun and with Brian_E's site and the model site for the RMA City of London http://www.cityroyal.co.uk I hope to convince the HQ to sanction the Once a Marine Idea, and then grow it.
But these things take time... With your help things may move a little quicker.
