Hey,
As most of you will know I hope to join the Army as a Nurse next year. I already have the requirements (5 GCSES A-C, in Science, Maths, English and two others (got Bs for all), and I'm now doing my A Levels, which aren't necessary for the Army. I retook my first year of my A Levels to get better grades for medicine but now I can't imagine needing the A Levels. I really can't. If the Army doesn't go well I can always be a civilian nurse using my GCSE requirements. But the A Levels would be a backup apparently. As far as I know I wouldn't need them, I am dead certain that I don't want to do anything else.
I could not come back next year and dedicate my time to exercise to be fit for the Army. It's tempting. I could also have a break from things, let my mind have a chance to catch up, I could do some travelling too. I could even continue my A Levels in an Army college. Or I could spend another year at a college I don't like much, getting qualifications I do not really need. Only thing I would miss is my friends, but I'd still see them.
So what do you guys think? Should I continue next year? Or Just focus on training?
It's a tough decision, certainly. I'm really tempted to not continue.

Carry on with your As, it`ll pay dividends later.
Why do you want to join the Army as a nurse?
Do you look like Anne Widdicombe
Go Navy
(unless you actually do look like Anne W, of course)

Stay and complete your A-levels, they may come in very handy at a future date, even if at the moment you cant see it. Things may change in the future, and you may find you want to do something that having A-levels would help you with. The Army isnt going anywhere so for the sake of one more year, in which you can work on your fitness too, i,d say stay and complete them, and get a bit more life experience at the same time too.
Hopefully your Army career will go well whenever you join, but regardless, who knows what you may want to do in 10 or 15 years(having been in the Army). You may find you want to change direction at some point and it will be much harder to get your A-levels later in life when you have bills, loans, credit cards and beer to pay for.
Get them now,thats my opinion.
