Not sure if in the right place but it said introduce yer self so here goes.

I served in the RN from 1964 to 1989 joined up at Ganges as an RO, recated in 65 to Jack Dusty.
Served in the following ships
64/65 Ganges
65/66 Pembroke
66 Sultan
66/67 Victorious
67/69 Mercury
69/70 Hydra
70/72 Deadalus
72/75 Chichester
75/78 Deadalus
78/80 Blake
81/82 Sultan
82/84 Newcastle
84/86 Project Oasis
87 Invincible
88/89 FMG Portsmouth
Discharged 89
Various jobs since leaving mob.

Married 5 kids 9 grandkids
residing in Grimsby NE Lincs.

Nah worries bud, I joined originally as a RO but recat'ed in Raleigh to MA and only spent 2 weeks at Mercury learning morse 8) as the paperwork was sorted for my trip to Haslar.

My Troop Boss in Cdo Logs always pinged me for radio watch as I was "qualified" :o 8)

Naval Logic there somewhere, but farked if I can find it :lol: :lol:

It were the morse I had trouble with, the faster it got the worse my writing got they couldn't read it. Still enjoyed me time as a JD.
The perks where good :D
New to this inter net lark been on a couple of other sites trying to trace old shipmates with a little sucess found two from my days on the Blake.

No I was too tall for Button Boy. I was on the end of the lower yardarm & it were a bit breezy that year ended up facing the lad next to me he had to push me back.

No I don't use the RNA at Cleethorpes a bit far to go for a nite out for me.
Have thought about it a couple of times though. :D :D :D

I hope that you enjoy the banter and the company - a lot of them are sane
and have papers to prove it.

One of my squaddies was from Grimsby, trawler lad, had a thumb
that had been caught in a winch or something, used to wiggle it at us....
