Bradford Shooting.
Let the ethnic groups roar, all they can do. If they try and riot and attack Englishmen, let them smell English powder and feel English steel.
Let them call me a rebel and I welcome it, I feel no concern from it; but I should suffer the misery of demons were I to make a whore of my soul. (Thomas Paine)

I saw that about a year ago, I don't know if it is anything but propaganda?
Too well written to be a lone grunt Marine imo.
I agree with his view on the weapons 100% though b/s or not.
I was at the range a few months back and was hit in the lower left abdomen with a 9mm richochet. The only thing I got was a slap, sting and a purple bruise. Had it been a .45 cal. I'd been in the hospital or dead.
I agree to a point with the M-16, but I know Army soldiers don't clean their weapons for shit nowdays as well. I never had too many problems with my gun, only times I did was when I let it get filthy or wore out a spring.

Anyway, chappy you were bang out of order to stand your ground on such a thread, and you were wrong. I wont quote all the stuff just you were wrong.
I havent heard the proper story as yet, but my condolences go to the family and her oppos.
Arm them, and for training they could cure the prison overcrowding issue.

I agree that all police should be armed.
Trouble is - that the current lot of Police, are not geared to being armed and might be totally unsuitable to handle even a handgun.
It will take a recruitment drive to take suitable people into the Police and THEN train them to handle firearms as a matter of course!
Then we would be in a USA type of Police Force!
Is that good or bad? Only time will tell.
Sneaky
PS Bring back capital punishment, especially for the killing of Police Officers, but for me - for all sorts of murder!

Former RM of 23 years.
I am resurrecting this thread following the shooting of yet another unarmed female officer, this time in Nottingham last night.
My prayers go out to Rachael and her family.

My personal feelings remain the same as the early pages of this thread, the circumstances are largely the same as the Bradford incident, ie unarmed officers attending a call as did hundreds of others last night all over the country.

As this has been resurrected,
I'll stick my two cents in.
This in no way represents my Department or the views of the current incumbent.
It is purely my point of view.
Since the banning of handguns in the U.K. and Australia(Some long guns in OZ)Criminal use of firearms has increased.
New York and DC have seen firearms abuse increase as those states have extreme firearms control laws.(Yep Frank,Before you start,I know DC is not a state,But it may as well be)
In the 48 states that have enacted"Right to Carry"Violent crime involving the use of firearms,Mugging's and home invasions have dropped,Sometimes by as much as 50%.
WI.andIl. have no"Right to Carry"And are seeing their crime rate rocket.
Want to commit a violent crime with a gun?
Just move to NYC,D.C.WI,or IL.
Or England.
