Some of your eloquent forms of expressing your viewpoint goes beyond belief !

Hi Frank

Is there any way Bush can remove Rumsfeld from office ? I think Rumsfeld just makes things worse for the Bush adminsitration whenever speaks out publically.

It could happen based on two scenarii I think:
1 - the situation in Iraq degrades beyond political manageability back in the States, a sharp increase in atrocities being a factor. Particularly if atrocities are committed by our side..
2 - for whatever reasons, Rumsfeld decides to come out criticizing the president. That would do it.

Bush and Rumsfeld pretty much see eye to eye. The one thing this administration cannot forgive is criticism of the man at the top.
As to Rumsfeld making things worse when he opens his mouth, it's interesting to note that US media edit the president's speeches, with the unavoidable exception of the State of the Union address.
This is a speech he must rehearse like a madman in order not to foul up.
Many people think that Bushisms are made up exaggerations.
If so, why is it the media rarely show him talking at length?

Outside topic, but I'd recommend two books:
"fortunate son" by J. Hatfield and "Farenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury".

Whoever can tell me what the two have in common gets a cookie.

I have to say that the drivel I'm reading from normally intelligent
and insightful people is driving me nuts!
This theory, that theory, conspiracy's everywhere you look.
Fact is we are at war,a war that we must win,you can spin it anyway you want,we are losing good young men who are not in some University somewhere spouting their Professors beliefs to get good grades but out there doing it.

Whitey

I find some of your posts most odious, the latter one being probably the vilest.

If the moderators on this site find your posts acceptable then I am off out of here

Hi Frank,

I will definitely try and get hold of those 2 books, the latter sounds like a familiar classic. :)

Hi Spanners,

Please don't go
I really like reading your informative and rational posts

Spanner,
I knew one of the guys they hacked up, the guy was cocky and a prick at times, but dedicated. He wasn't a soldier, he was there trying to get food to these people. What your sympathies are for this or these people I haven't a clue. I'm mad right now Spanner, I think it is acceptable to be mad, if nothing else it is totally normal in America to be outraged, vengeful and ruthless over something like this.

I'm tired of the US generals responses to this kind of thing. We quit confiscating weapons really, no more house to house, no large stock piles. Why did we let the average Iraqi keep select fire weapons? In Haiti we had a weapons exchange program, give us an AK and we give you 5 dollars and an M-1 Grand for self defense and hunting, turn in your neighbor who has an RPG or AK and get 20 dollars.

Fact is these people only understand Iron Fist type discipline. If nothing else they need to suffer, suffer bad. Until they learn to police themselves. Once they do we leave with the understanding if they get out of control, we come back and start all over again. We run Bartertown.
Do I care about world opinion? No, do they want to stand against us over some savages? I think not, they mostly don't stand at all against anything. They just sit around at the UN and stew.
If it was you or people you knew Spanner I wonder if you'd be so Altruist?
Yeah I'm vile, barbaric, neaderthal then again so was the guys we sent to Europe in WW1 and 2. We are at war, I didn't agree with it when we went, but we are there and giving in to world weakling cries to "Win Hearts and Minds" is getting costly to soldiers and now civilians. In Vietnam we did this, it failed and we have a nice wall with 58,000 names on it. We haven't got room nor desire for another wall.
If I bother you, if I hurt your feelings, sorry get a tissue and have a good cry. I think your biggest problem with me is I'm not a feminized man, the kind of man who dominates the world right now.
Your country used to be hard, and when you were you ruled, no one messed with you, you owned the planet. You dipped bullets in pig blood and fat and burried Muslims in pig carcasses. You even burned our capitol and laughed while you did.
I read all the time about how criminals, thugs and drug dealing immigrants rule your streets and drain your national energies. That I blame on the majority of men over there, same as I blame the men here. They have lost their ruthlessness, their sense of responsibility as the great protector of their women and society and lost their determination to be intollerant to corruption. Same as here. You like America has started to become are a bunch of weaklings who hide behind the few and I mean few brave, vile ruthless men who still exist and still do the dirty job the new metrosexuals and their ilk wouldn't dare to.
You got some tough guys on here and some young men who are tough and asking advice to folks on where to go with their manhood where it is still accepted.
Get hard, get mad or just go get a pedicure and hide behind the brave. And don't act like such a little girl, "I'm taking my dollies home and won't play with you anymore." Oh please.
:D This happened to my people, not yours.
If there is a rat, well people in that place knew.

I think there's a bit of reverse psychology in Whitey's post: he's taking a form of reasoning to its ultimate conclusion.
As to conspiracy theories, well it's interesting how much fun was had months ago picking at the JFK assassination, yet when it comes to any current event, it's unpatriotic at best.
After all political campaigns do have traits of conspiracies don't they?
Back on topic then, I repeat some of the information concerning the four Americans killed in Fallujah doesn't quite add up for me. In fact I should use the term assassination in this case.
It's quite fine to disagree with my view of it, but I'd like some specifics as to why. And separate it from 'war spin'.

Maybe it'd be best to focus on the fact we agree that Bush should be re-elected rather than our reasons why we want to see him in charge for another four years, which are opposite.
In any event, the book "fortunate son" is a biography of G.W. Bush written before he was elected for his first term, by a man who'd done time for solicitation to murder. This last fact, an important one, was one of the reasons publishers recalled the book from the shelves.
Under threats from Bush campaign lawyers, they promised to burn the books (which they ended up not doing, but the request was peculiar).
As to "Farenheit 451" for those unfamiliar to it, here's an editorial review:
"In Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury's classic, frightening vision of the future, firemen don't put out fires--they start them in order to burn books. Bradbury's vividly painted society holds up the appearance of happiness as the highest goal--a place where trivial information is good, and knowledge and ideas are bad. Fire Captain Beatty explains it this way, "Give the people contests they win by remembering the words to more popular songs.... Don't give them slippery stuff like philosophy or sociology to tie things up with. That way lies melancholy."

Interesting parallel.

Exactly Frank. I was going to try to explain it, but I'm tired of explaining everything over and over.
Artist I'm not a racist. No mention of it in above post. They mutilated bodies I was just saying pigs blood might be in order. One bad turn for the other.
I'll be on Hacks board for the most part for now on. The playing nice with these folks wen't out the window when we invaded them. You can't kick over the hive and just stand around and get stung. My first post was sort of satire, bad taste? Depends on your humor.
Well SFTT, see you there. :D

As a footnote, Fallujah in particular and the whole Sunni Triangle is so rife with anti-Americanism and terrorist-insurgent activity that it can be viewed as a free fire zone.
I don't think there's much to be lost by ratcheting up military response a couple notches there and go from tough to hard, just don't let any news crews in the area.
Hundreds more contractors are scheduled to arrive in the region in the coming days. Prior to this, it should be sealed off and pacified if possible.

Whitey's post was deleted. Sorry for the delay Spannerman, setting up a new system takes time.
Whitey if you want to carry on pouring that drivel then get yourself off to one of your supremacist sites and stick with your own.
If you have a problem with that then PM me.

Thank goodness that some sort of decorum has been restored, this Whitey person spouts venom to the extreme, if he wishes to expound his views in this way then I and others will be slinging our hooks.

Whitey, we all abhor what has gone on 9/11, Madrid, Fallujah, Gaza and so forth, our sympathies are very much with the victims and their families, but we in Britain often keep our vitriolic outbursts to ourselves, our innermost thoughts are exactly that innermost.

I intend drawing a line under this subject and I hope you appreciate those sentiments.

Spanners I don't know about that I grew up in Islington and if you had a problem with someone you kicked the crap out of him or he kicked the crap out of you. You didn't keep it inside it was very real and very physical maybe your a gentleman who doesn't say what he means but there isn't any point in hiding in your closet.

I don't know what Whitey said but sometimes this forum becomes a little bit socialist, I live in Canada I have enough Socialism and politcal correct crap to deal with here where you can't argue against Gay rights or your commiting a criminal act under bill C-250.

The Sunni triangle is screwed up plain and simple and you can't win the hearts and minds of people who have there hearts set on blowing themselves up just to get at you. The only way through this is to crush the local resistance with a very hardline approach.

Marina, I'm just a simple man please explain what you meant by.

Spanner I don't know what Drawing a line under this means? I'm American explain? You mean like the thread is over?
Didn't see how what I said was so bad?Considering their actions. Someone alter my post? Racist? I don't remember mentioning race? Artist Thanks for the e-mail, long time since you misunderstood me. Look I'm doing better, not even trying to argue. White Supremist sites? Couldn't name one. I do vistit League of the South, not a racist site.
I don't know, like I said I was a student of sorts of Scott Halverston 10 years ago and this just gets me.Probably why I'm not thinking rational or logical on the matter. They killed him and well his body still hasn't been recovered, hanging off the over pass advertised on Al Jazeer. Sorry I was upset. I don't deserve the right to be mad, angry, or sort of sad. Last of all I got no right for saying our troops ought to smash that town. My bad.
Frank thanks for your futile attempt to explain my position. I smell a rat as well. :x-mas:
